Cookies instead of Cake
I had cookies made by Amanda from i am baker for my mothers 60th birthday celebration. We traveled down to Connecticut to Foxwoods casino and we stayed in a hotel for 2 nights and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. All went well EXCEPT the cookies were delivered on time but when I asked the front desk at the hotel (several times) for the delivery they said they didn't come in, so we didn't have the cookies for the party!! AHHH! I didn't freak out because stuff happens... we did get them after some prodding they "found" the package mind you it was the day ofter the party..we opened the box and the cookies were EXCEPTIONAL!
I do wish we had them at the dinner party because I KNOW they would have been a big hit, but like my mother said more for us!! YUMMSTERS! tee hee

Test Kitchen ~Cupcakes
I need to practice my red white an blue cupcakes for Ruby's 1st birthday on the 4th of July! I got my inspiration from Skip to my Lou's post Red, White and Blue Cupcakes.
I didn't practice the frosting, that will be for another day.
I just used Betty Crocker white cake mix added my egg whites then separated the mix into different bowls to add the color.
I started with a little blue, more white and finished it off with the red. I used a rubber spatula to layer the colors, I was surprised that there was little mess. I was happy with that! :)
They layered perfectly! ..hopefully when I do them for the party it happens again!!
YuM!
The test was a success! and my "tester" thought so too...looks like the dogs are waiting for him to drop some!

Chemicals are in our Canned goods! AHHH!
I have been reading all over that BPA is in our canned food, why is this bad you ask? well its harmful to our childrens growing homrmones and has a cancer causing agents. We need to get informed and take action to reduce our familys exposure to toxic chemicals. I know I am! (trying)
Read this article - Some Bisphenol A With Your Green Beans? then use up/donate all canned goods and buy frozen, or jarred products, even better get fresh, until we can get our government to change the canning process and go BPA FREE!!

Crayons are for paper
This kid gets a crayon and colors on EVERYTHING! I guess I'm like BP..on damage control, trying to clean up this mess...
I used a little Awesome from the http://www.dollartree.com/home.jsp And it came off with little effort!
I sprayed and wiped with viva paper towel then used the scratchy side of the sponge to get off the rest, here is the window after...

Inspiration!
A short video I posted to YouTube of my daughter Ruby kissing herself in the mirror. When I filmed it, I thought this is so cute its gonna go viral and get a thousand hits in a week..HA! There are a MILLION babies kissing themselves in mirrors on YouTube...Oh well, still she is a MY favorite! :)
